Open Studios

Open Studios 2026 at Thames-side Studios, Woolwich, London SE18 .

I am fortunate to have a studio in Thames-side Studios over-looking the River  Thames, the wreck of the Royal Iris, and the Tate & Lyle Golden Syrup factory.

Our Open Studios are lively affairs, taking place between 11am and 5 pm on the 6 and 7 June.  Around a third of the studios – currently, there is over 500 of them on this Woowich site alone – open their doors to visitors with many putting on demonstrations or workshops to teach the skills of their craft.  The Main Gallery at Thames-side Studios displays examples of the work of everyone who is participating, with catalogues and maps available to enable visitors to find their way to the artists studio.

For me,  Open Studios is an opportunity to catch up on what is happening behind the doors on this magical riverside space!   It is a chance to meet collectors, owners of galleries and art dealers, suppliers of raw materials, photographers, framers and printers, as well as socialise with our private customers and  friends.  You just never know who is going to walk through the door!   Many of my commissions are the result of a chance visit to Open Studios.

So thank you to everyone who came.  And thank you to the Thames-side studios management team for their enthusiasm and for the  incredible amount of work that they undertake each year to make it happen

See you next year – dates to be confirmed.

LOVE OF ART

As a member of Skylark  Gallery in Gabriel’s Wharf, I was delighted to join my fellow artists for a one week exhibition called Love of Art at the Oxo Tower Gallery on South Bank.

The event took place over the Easter period and, as you might expect from such a fabulous riverside venue, it was busy!  Skylark Gallery displayed the work of 23 artists, both 3D and 2D, from the physical gallery in Gabriel’s Wharf and the on-line gallery.   All the artists live in or close to London but produce original artwork for a diverse group of collectors across the world, united by one thing – the love of art!

We are booked once more at Oxo Gallery for the Easter in 2027.  The date for your diary is  23 to 30 March 2027.
